LFC have one up-n-coming managerial talent....... he is none other than Jamie Carragher who has been praised by several other managers in the game to have the potential to be the next England manager.

Liverpool to offload Paul Konchesky and Milan Jovanovic

Liverpool hope to start clearing their deadwood this week with Paul Konchesky considering a move to Leicester City and Lille keen on signing Milan Jovanovic.

Konchesky followed Roy Hodgson to Anfield from Fulham for £4 million (S$7.8 million) last summer and, like his former manager, has endured a dreadful time on Merseyside. He spent the end of last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, and Liverpool are prepared to accept £1.5 million for the left-back, providing he agrees to join Sven-Goran Eriksson's team in the Championship. The 30-year-old has been granted permission to join Leicester at a pre-season training camp in Sweden where he will undergo a medical.

Jovanovic, who earned £120,000 a week during the first year of his contract with Liverpool, is also surplus to requirements and has attracted offers from Olympiakos, Anderlecht and Lille. The Serbia international said: "Lille, like Anderlecht, is a strong option. This is a good club, which plays at the top of French football, a high-level competition, and who will also play in the group stage of the Champions League. For me, that's interesting."

Kinda sad for Konchesky. Personally monitored his performances while he was with Fulham cos I played fantasy manager n had him in my squad. He was a pretty decent player n had scored some nice goals, some fr his notable rockets. In fact he was 1 of the top defenders who had consistently chalked up points for his club.

But his form dipped drastically when he came to Pool. He was so ordinary n such a liability. wonder was it our mistake to sign him when he was recuperating fr injury @ Fulham??

Jovanovic oredi released by LFC...... that means he is a free agent and can play for any club he wishes..... nothing to do with LFC anymore.

We seem to have a lot of midfielders. Hendersson, Adam, Downing... Aquilani i still around, Joe Cole too. Does our left back position need strengthening or is Insua's return enough? We do need more strikers... Ngog is still 3rd choice striker...

I share yr same sentiments, juz like many fellow Pool fans. Now with so many players battling for a place in midfield, think only Stevie G is an automatic choice, with Adam, Downing n Hendersson??? Where does Lucas n Maxi fit in then? Think Mireles will go for sure. So will Cole. Make no sense having a congested midfield with so many players on high wages sitting on the bench!

Think we just need 1 more quality defender and 1 backup striker who is willing to sit on the bench behind Suarez, Carroll & Kuyt!

Raul is staying for sure as he said, not sure why these rumours keep circulating and you guys keep circulating them.

Ok midfield:
Holders: Lucas, Spearing? Poulsen (might go, but seems staying as backup).
Attack: Stevie, Adam, Raul, AA (seems staying), Henderson, Shelvey (backup)
Wing: Maxi, Kuyt, Cole (might go?), Downing

Some points:
There's a lot of flexibility in the midfield except for some individuals, egs Stevie, Raul, Henderson, Downing (both sides), Cole.

Some of the players bought like Henderson are clearly meant as understudy and may not walk into the first team.

We need depth. Pls be gone the days when we had kids and jokers on the bench. We should have a bench that frightens the shit out of the opponents and gets ooh aah from pundits.

This suggests, 4-5 first team, 3-4 bench. Overloaded midfield, I think not?

I'm sure Kenny has plans for defenders and even a striker. We won't look so middle heavy then.

I think so too..... mostly likely to be Poulsen if he does not leave as he has played in that position before while at Juventus.

Liverpool hv completed the signing of goalkeeper Alexander Doni fr Roma.

Brazil international Doni, 31, arrives 2 provide competition 4 Pepe Reina & director of football Damien Comolli feels it will be of real benefit 2 the squad.

He told the club's official website: "We r delighted 2 sign Doni. It's a position we felt we had 2 strengthen becos it will allow our young goalkeepers 2 go on loan & get some experience @ some point during the season, which is crucial in their development.

"We r getting a very experienced goalkeeper who is used 2 handling the pressure of big games & international matches with Brazil. He had a very good end of last season with Roma, so we r very pleased.

"I spoke 2 Lucas abt Doni & he was very complimentary abt him as a person & as a goalkeeper, so I think it's a great deal 4 us.

"He is suited 2 English football. He is big & good in the air & his distribution is quick as well. When you play 4 Roma 4 years & years, the pressure @ tat club in tat city is tremendous, so the fact he can handle tat shows he can take anything."

He added: "When you come here & know you will be a number 2 behind Pepe, what's important 4 us is the attitude & mentality off the pitch & in the changing room. He's got 2 be supportive of the number 1 but also be aggressive enough 2 push the number 1 on a daily basis, & I think Doni represents all tat.

"When we approached him the 1st time, obviously he wanted 2 be a number 1 somewhere but he said Liverpool Football Club is such a big club tat if he wanted 2 come as a number 2 then he would come."

Liverpool hv not announced the details of the fee or contract length.

Doni, who holds an Italian passport, joined Roma in 2005 fr Brazilians Juventude & spent 6 seasons with the Giallorossi, winning the Coppa Italia in 2007 & 2008.

The 31-year-old is Liverpool's 3rd summer signing following the capture of Jordan Henderson fr Sunderland & Charlie Adam fr Blackpool, while a fee has also been agreed 4 Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing.
