Not one, but 4 of them who are married to Singaporeans and living happily in SG.
I am not saying that I do not believe you. What you have mentioned is indeed useful and provided me another insight.

Just that I think that holding a WP will affect the chances of getting SPR. Anyway, no one knows exactly how does ICA evaluate the candidates.

I happened to speak with an ICA officer over the phone on this. He explained that sponsor pays a big part. For example, an ideal sponsor should be highly paid. There are additional factors that ICA look into things like job stability, job history, others.

Just to illustrate my point (for clarity), a property agent who draws high pay through his commission does not necessarily have a better chance than an engineer drawing 4k per month on the same job for the past 2 years.

Unfortunately, I do not have a copy of their assessment checklist.

Last but not least, have you been paying your taxes?

Hi Bros,

Thanks for all the input.

So i think this will be the things i do.

1. Apply visa for her to enter to SG under my name.
2. Book ROM before she come over.
3. ROM then apply for LTVP.
4. After that let her get used to living in SG maybe apply for some English course for her first.
5. After completing the course then see what she want to do.
6. During the renewer of her LTVP then maybe will try for SPR.

Haha. But the worry thing right now is not the above but how to propose to her . Haha been cracking my head for it right now....

Will let bros know my exp so as to benefit all other bros marry foreigner.

Re: Issue with ICA

Some new updates !

SINGAPORE: A new Long Term Visit Pass Plus (LTVP+) will be introduced in April to help foreign spouses of Singaporeans.

Several MPs had raised the difficulty faced by some foreign spouses in Singapore in getting a PR status or citizenship.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean said the scheme will be for a duration of three years and up to five years for each subsequent renewal.

This is instead of the current shorter periods of one year.

Long Term Visit Pass Plus holders will also receive benefits.

Mr Teo said: "LTVP+ holders will also receive healthcare subsidies for inpatient treatment, inpatient treatment at restructured hospitals, pegged at a level close to that for PRs, that is, about the same rates as PRs even though they have not yet been given PR.

"It will be easier for LTVP+ holders to work to supplement the family income. They will only require a Letter of Consent from MOM to work, which can be easily obtained through online application."

Hi ,
Good news been searching around but I think this works more for those that already have kids in sg n those that marry for more then three year holding ltvp.

For those like me going to bring our spouse to sg I think quite diff to get this ltvp+ but at least it's a gd start I mean having this may have it's side effect like fake marriage but I think we cannot have a system that eliminate all possible . And this only apply to sg citizen.

So I will try applying the ltvp in July wait for my news n update.
Praying hard that I can Tio this ltvp+ haha but not holding high hope.

If any bros manage to get it plus share over here. Cheers

Hi bros,

the reason for me saying three year of marriage is due to the following line.

Q2: Who is eligible for the LTVP+? Do all foreign spouses of Singapore citizens qualify for LTVP+?

A2: Couples who have at least one child who is a Singapore Citizen from their marriage will be eligible to apply for the LTVP+. For those without an SC child, we will look at other factors such as duration of marriage, and will in general consider more favourably those who have been married for at least three years. Each application will be considered on its own merits. Other factors that we consider include the ability of the sponsor to financially support the family, and good conduct of both the sponsor and the applicant.

But as it mention case to case base so i am praying hard that they will give my wife to be a LTVP plus.

Therefore, it is a wrong interpretation of the statement written in the link.

YES .. that is in your own opinion and you should NOT paraphrase what is documented to confuse reader ... it is stated "more preferably"

Every case are different ..

To be frank ... doesn't mean it state got SC child "SURE" get BUT if you don't meet others criteria, you might not get it, likewise vice versa ...

I am not commenting otherwise because I also in a quite similar situation, and I also like you .. I am praying I get the LTVP + ... when I renew in August.

My wife is a Vietnamese currently holding a 1 Yr LTVP and a 1 year old daughter who is born in Vietnam and SC by descent.
