tat's not enuf for a team which is trying make up the "lost time" and to catch up with man u, arsenal n cheski...!!! esp. tis year, when we're so close, and instead of building on last season momentum and get closer, we spent a whopping NEGATIVE 4 mil to move backwards again... and to make things even worse, man city & spure improved while we moved backwards... and also, if we can see from the transfer rafa made, most of the time he had to sell 1 before he can buy 1 (in most cases, he was given money to top up and buy better players), but it's still one comes in, one go out... tat's the reason our squad is so thin.. The fact that we finished our Europa League semi-final with Nabil El Zhar and Philipp Degen on the pitch is not, as many would have you believe, due to Benitez’s misjudgement of his players’ quality, but because he hasn’t had the funds to enlarge the squad (beyond those that he’s raised himself from sales, which doesn’t really expand the squad at all) taking recent matches for example: Spurs’s bench against Bolton consisted of Bassong, Lennon, Palacios, Jenas, Crouch and Gudjohnsen – £39 million worth of players. Villa’s most recent bench was ‘worth’ £26 million Chelsea’s £27 million. Liverpool’s on Thursday night (vs Alt Madrid) was Kyrgiakos, Degen, Ngog, Pacheco, Ayala, and El Zhar – acquired for an atonishing combined fee of £3.5million

Add to that the frees we got: Voronin as striker, Degen as rightback - two areas which let us down badly this season.
These are not frees of established stars like RVN (why did we not get him? cos of the Scum factor?), but who just happened to have a contract run down and may not have the quality. Of course we got Maxi and that was a great bit of business. |

with such a disaster start of the season, and yet we did not strengthen our team during the trasfer window.... with Torres, Skrtl, Agger, Aurelio, Johnson and even Carragher struggling with injury problem, it's obvious tat we need covers in the defense and strike force.. but wat did our owners do? give our manager a transfer budget of 5 mil(?)!! we're linked to many players during jan window, from 5mil rated to 10+ mil rated players... but we had to settle for Kgyro and Maxi ( a total cost of 2-3 mil)... personally i like both players, Kygro played well when call upon and i like his "no-nonsense" type of defending... Maxi is a quality player... Kudos to rafa in getting them with ... i guess with his hand tied with limited budget for transfer n wages, rafa opts to but a defender (anyway, i dun think 2 mil can get any decent strikers... RvN's wages likely to be out of our range and he din really want to join us too)... i'm not 100% pro-rafa.... but i'm 100% ANTI-the 2 idoits...

To buy quality players, to blend each new players into the core team, to be able to produce the desired results on the pitch, to be able to rely / call up able fringe players should any starting eleven be injured/suspended, to keep the team "star players" happy etc..the manager must be one hell of a superman! Again, me not supporting RB; but take into consideration the limited transfer funds he had all this while, and to manage with the present crop of capable/incapable (upto individual assessments) players, he had done a commendable job. LFC may not do well for this season, but at least I do take utmost enjoyment in Kops beating the scums at anfield! and completing the double over toffees. Just to add on, RB may be a shrewd tactician on the pitch, but def not a master in player/man management. His emotions (or lack of it) whether Kops score or conceed; his seldom praising/single out any player, be it if the player is man-of-the-match or farkdup performance on the pitch, his constant scribbling on his notes and remains oblivious to the match etc. But end of the day, its the end results we all want, the lifting of the trophy / Cup. fellow bros, came across this article, a very interesting read, pin-pointing the cause and source of bad press on Rafa, its someone from within!
Anfield Road LFC chairman must deal with those causing the damage How will we ever succeed if there's internal infighting within LFC??

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
actually, i think its more of George Gillett problem then Tom Hicks.. I think way way before time, it was also GG who wanted to buy LFC, and he pulled TH into the deal.. and i think 08/09 TH wanted to sell his shares to another investor already, but GG veto-ed the deal, and apparently they had an agreement that if either one wanted to sell out, the other had to agree first.. anyhow, from the link below, i think its quite clear TH wanted out as soon as possible.
TEAMtalk | Football | Premier League | Liverpool News - Hicks: I have paid a terrible price actually, somehow Liverpool always been targeted by the media.. we need a good journalist/newspaper to support the team.. i think the most recent issue will be Peter Crouch.. when he scoring for Liverpool, its he being over-rated.. when he performed for Tottenham, he is hero.. what the hell is that? finally, a good player linked to us. =) would bring much more creativity in the midfield department and ease the load on youngster like Lucas. Liverpool open talks with Real Madrid's Rafael van der Vaart over possible move - report - Goal.com and can brothers hawksbay and sex_crusader stop the bantering in this forum? i think we are here to discuss our beloved team's news/development/issues.. appreciate if you two continue on PM basis.. cheers, Shy |

Rumours is now not a surprised & something which excite me to look forward to no-more. We can actually give our views all day long but it will not a little bit affect the ones sitting in the board - well constructive suggestion may not be accepted by millions of fans out there less to say sbf .. Lucas ?...he should have been free-transferred immediately or follow Rafa out of the door ... There are many clowns in here, bikering is part & parcel in a virtual forum...something which you do not like, just ignore & move on..it certainly would not affect us Huat Arh..~~

VDV is probably a rehash of old news - can't say I have been excited by his form in the last 2 seasons. We need an out and out striker/centre forward anyway if Torres breaks down. Bobby Zamora/Carlton Cole should be what we should be looking for, although Zamora doesn't score enough goals. Both are also proven in the league. |
