My 38th Batam Trip Summary
(from 4th April to 6th April 2017)

Reference : 37th Batam Trip Summary

One month seems like a long wait to reach Batam. Last trip wasn't good,so this trip is more about physically being in Batam and trying to adjust myself to play a new game,hehehe...unlike my previous trips,this one is more about sourcing for information meant for my later Batam trips. So as usual,i am collecting these info and have them recorded inside my summary,for my future reference as well as future laughter,hehehe....

I missed my bed!

Formosa Tea Story new lunch promo,hehehe...price increase yet they call it a promo,how the Indonesian do business is funny. I had one of the set lunch there while waiting for my girl to arrive from Nadim,hehehe...quite surprisingly,this lunch inclusive of 1 drink cost less than 40k after my membership discount.

Was pretty lazy to step out of hotel on my 1st day,so I just made my trip to Vienna Restaurant downstair for my dinner.

Believe it or not,nice good tasting dinner costing less than 120k for 2 person (less than S$13). Thats about the price of a Singapore's Zhi Char store except this one is in a hotel's restaurant. Oh ,and in case someone wish to ask whats the reddish-looking pot of water is,its not blood...hehehe...its called Rosella tea. Healthy stuffs,hehehe...my friend keep telling me its Ribena blackcurrant. Well,actually the taste were quite similar.

That's my receipt for my dinner meal :

...and if I didn't remember wrong,this should be my 1st dinner at the restaurant itself ever since I start dwelling in this hotel 3 years ago. Not too bad for a simple meal. Still,i don't consider it cheap...hehehe...but definitely not falling on my expensive category. Taste wise, so far so good (edible stuffs). I could actually order the same thing to my room but I just want to give it a try since i have never tried eating there for dinner before. Just want to see how quiet the place is, well...I like quiet places.

There was a K-Mart,a 7-11 look-alike kind of store (24hour) at the ground floor of the hotel...things were more expensive in it but becos its still considerably new with lesser range of stuffs,i bought most of my groceries from another provision shop near to the 4-faced Buddha shrine within the hotel block.

So much for the 1st day, what I wish to monitor in this trip is the metered taxi fare and taxi trip via Nadim Airport to Formosa Hotel cost 120k,took about 25 mins (I didn't pay for it). The taxi fare I paid for from Harbour Bay to Hotel plus sending my girl back to Nadim and myself back to Harbour Bay later cost a total of 50k.

I plan to do EVEN better in my next trip. And this trip is more about that.

I saw this on the Formosa Hotel website...hehehe...

...and then I look at the King's Massage latest pricelist on their packages...

Bros who understand me will know what i am thinking, hehehe...please do not forget I am a silver card member and I am also about to be Gold Card member....hehehe...I am coordinating my future Batam trips in this summary. Hopefully I can make it all FREE! FREE! FREE!

There are free transport everywhere or maybe cheap transportation everywhere in Batam w/o the need to compromise on comfort and speed. And I just need to use to bit of common sense to get it,hehehe...not going to share it in details here for now.

Not forgetting the 2 way shuttle service at 50k if I order their room on their website. I have yet to talk to the receptionist about my True Real Plan yet,hehehe...its not free but at 50k rupiah,it would cost me only 25k from point A to point B practically within Batam if my plan work out the way I want it to be.

Here,the normal pricelist for taxi transportation for most hotel taxi...

Just want to keep all of the above for my later and future references.

The next day,walk over to Nagoya City Walk to have lunch...we pick Bento Tei AGAIN becos in my last trip,the food taste good enough,hehehe...

I found out something,fruits in Batam served in a restaurant seems to be pretty expensive huh? I remember buying my own fruits and have the hotel kitchen staffs shave off its skin and slice it up nicely for me before serving it to my room for FREE! (I do tip them a little for their good effort tho)

...and my bill for the Bento Tei lunch was alittle lesser than my last trip,which makes me a little happy.

That's a close to 153k rupiah meal for 2 person. Not too bad for a meal in Batam.

Hmm...come to think of it,a lot of things in batam has increase in price. Jco 20 pcs mini doughnut has increase its price from 49k rupiah to 52k. Not a good sign.

Next trip I am more likely to go try the Da Jia Cantonese Restaurant,hehehe...

I think they are pretty famous with their porridge and more important of it all,its a Halal restaurant,hehehe...and if I didnt guess wrong, its running on 24 hour too. Meaning I can go anytime there to grab my supper.

Wait,there seems to be a place around there that serve dim sum in City Walk Mall...but that one not stated Halal.... (when I eat,i also need to think for my girl who is with me too)

Why I choose all these places...well,they were suppose to quiet,so no one disturb me,and quiet place where its probably lesser known by many,no terrorist,no rally,no touting...maybe better priced too (hopefully).

This is a 3D2N trip. Another worthy mention of this trip is the Baba Street Food Court on my last day. Variety of food were more during lunch time there...

I am sure to return to eat at this place again.

I was looking back some info from past and realize I haven't try to eat Bird Nests in Batam before...hmm...nevermind,i will look into that on a later trip...hehehe...

I actually saw this upon my checking out of the hotel and when I took this photo,my intention was to show it to the receptionist,but I...forgot!!

Anyway,its a dead cockroach...and it didn't quite bother me,i swept it out of its original position as below is suppose to be its where I 1st found it...

Oh,i also check out of my hotel after 2pm too. I think I checked out at around 215pm if I don't remember wrong.

Bought for my girl half a kg of Pandan Kueh lapis from the Tea Story...

This story I seems to have completely forget about Diana layer cake.

After sending my girl back to the airport,i was driven over to Harbour Bay ferry terminal,and as I still have some time before I could start boarding my ferry,i move around the place...and there, something caught my attention,hehehe...

...so I moved in to try to get to know more about the place.

This place is new. Entry pricing wise to get a massage started was about 10% higher than Kings.

...but they do have some discount (25%-30% off) during certain days. (sorry,due to low lightings in the presence of the shop,the shot isn't clear) A normal massage per hour should cost between 120k to 130k before the discount.

I didn't have the time to try,and only walk in to enquire (seems like its a no-pool,no sauna spa). Saw at least half a dozen girls inside "killing flies",meaning no business. Looks good for me since I usually prefer to go to "no business" yet newly opened places in Batam. Maybe I might just try this one in my next trips (or the one after).

After this,really nothing much left to,so I just roam around before getting ready to go to back to Hell.

Hmm...why the late 38th summary? Maybe someone may wonder. Let's not forget my main key objective for my summary was meant for my own reference in my later Batam trips. I used it to keep records of my trip/s and this time round,i have finished the summary earlier and yet choose to post it out only around 2 months later,hehehe...as a matter of fact,i am now writing my 40th Batam summary of my Ramadan trip and already finished my 39th.

This one is only the 38th,hehehe...

So much to do and so little time...
