Guys, if u are near Batam Center, head to Pasir Putih Pasar.
Quite alot of nice foods there. Hinanese chicken rice $20k, Mee Siam, Orh Luar, Bakuteh, Hokkien Mee, wonton Mee, Quay Chap, etc. If I'm not wrong they sell pork stay too.
I wonder the food court(no aircon) is run by Sgean investors?
At night there is a big screen for karaoke. Haven't try the Zhi Char yet.

This one below looks like a pretty fair deal for Batam beginners to look into (to reach Batam) during March school holiday...hehehe...when hotel prices tends to go uphill.

Note : I have censored off the address and contacts to prevent any breaching of forum advertising rules. But you can still do an internet search base on the tour agent's name online.

Booking any fairly above average hotel cost about S$50/night,Horizon ferry ticket cost about S$48 (including tax). And this is Swissbel Hotel,a 4 star Batam hotel. The one above don't exactly fits me tho,but the below one seems interesting,hehehe...at Montigo Resort (Montigo Resort rooms usually cost S$300+/night anytime and not easy to book). Its what caught my attention.

The above and below brochures were taken from Ministry of Education website. There's also a Bintan version of similar brochure too but well,it cost almost double compared to the Swissbel one, so....hehehe.... (I am not interested)

It's expensive leh... Apart from the $110/single rate, need to pay additional $29 for taxes.

For $139, can book horizon ferry tix, room at farmosa hotel and still have 39 bucks left for 1.5 rounds of massage at New Spa..

Extension of $95 per pax lagi bo hua; can get junior suite at hotels like Da Vienna.

Yes,definitely more expensive. But for Batam beginners who are thin-skinned, lacking confidence and fearful of the smallest occurrence during travelling like myself 3 years ago,it is still considerably a pretty fair deal,hehehe...especially the plans were to be within school holiday next month where Swissbel hotel Harbour Bay pricing is even higher. This coming weekend price for Swissbel Harbour Bay is already S$76.00. Add S$48 for 2 way Horizon Ferry ticket,total is S$124.00 if I go solo on my own.

S$110 + S$29 = S$139.00 for brochure package

S$139.00 - S$124.00 = S$15 extra

That's why I would say it don't exactly fit me (today),hehehe...but S$15 extra to buy some 'courage' for the about 3 years ago "newbie me",i think its still worth the cost. If I am still 'me' about 3 years ago, i am more likely to take up the brochure deal offered by me.

Nearly 3 years ago when I 1st started, I offered in public anyone who could bring me along to Batam for the 1st time by paying for half their ferry ticket price, remember?

History reminds me that I was once a noob,i once almost have to pay for "hold-hand service". It also reminds me of the people in the old Batam thread who helped me too (I am all grateful to them till today). Its one of the reason why the Beginner's Guide for 1st Time Batam Visitor is created, hehehe...

There is a herbal soup stall sell turtles soup.
BaiLong UTAMA branch shifted there. Reside in a coffee shop at the far end.
There is a shop selling dry goods like cuttle fish, salted fish,nut, koropok...
Quite good price compare to PENUIN.

Hehehe...i was actually talking about some Batam girls,got themselves impregnated by their own respective boyfriends,customers,lovers etc,who later dumped them and later have no choice but to give birth and brought up her baby in Batam (abortion isnt a good option for them). So she continue to work in booking joint/s (in Batam) after her contract is over,but yet be employing a babysitter to look after her child while she is at work. Her baby was in one way or another deprived of the mother's milk (at least in some way) if her customer booked her for more than a night ,while her customer gets the most of it.

i do hear of one such girl in ex. new berry ,one in Happy 8 and another in Bunga tho,hehehe...and the one in ex.New Berry was still lactating during 2016.
