Being a newbie I should be grateful to you for cautionning me to exercise discretion and I did express such gratitude, but unfortunately I said something towards the end which I should not have said and what was worse I high-lighted it. I think here, we must clarify that we ought to take precaution when dealing with PRC, be it FL, colleges or whatever. From my years of experience, living with them (guys & girls) most are just wanting to take advantage of you. My experiences are based on the top 20% cream of their society. They are alway under the impression that foreigners are all cash cows. For your info, the ranking of cash cow goes by:

1) American (may include Canadian)
2) UK + European, Australian
3) Singaporean, Taiwanese, Hong Konger
4) Malaysian, Bruniean

Indeed they are nice ones around and they are usually those who are very low profiles and will never go round talking about their problem, because they are strong enough on their own to brace out the difficultites and has their dignity of survival. But we should be more wary of those who seem to talk too much.

Why are we all so different between PRC and Singaporean Chinese? I can only reason it out to religion. They come from a society without religions where they used to be constantly suppressed by their government, thus creating a vacuum in their idealogy. Coupled with the difficulties in life, money seems to be the most secure things and it became their religion.

If you get to know really really really nice PRC, treasure them as friends. If you hardly know them or not know them good enough, it is wiser to err on the precautionary side. For the FL said, just enjoy the bonk and rtf as many time as you like. Don't bring back her trouble unless you are willing to give up everything in life. Cheers!
