Re: Going to Batam for 1st time
Hi feitutu,
Here some info may of some help(reply in Red) (1) How much should we pay the cab driver if he were to drive us around for the whole of Sat & Sunday morning? Do we pay him in advance or pay him on our departure date? You should pay him when you depart @ Batam Centre, however for two person for 2D 1N normal rate is 150K-200K, should get some recommendation from some bro here before you leave for batam. (2) Where is the best hotel to check in if we want to patronise the hottest discotheque in town? First of all there are three major Disco in batam as follow:- a) GG which you can stay @ Nagoya Plaza Hotel b) Planet which you can stay @ Planet or Island View Hotel c) Pacific which you can stay @ Novatel Hotel (3) What is the best time to check into the hotel if we only intend to incur 1 night hotel charge only as we will be staying overnight? Check in time normally is after 1pm WIB time. (4) What is the FL price charged at those discotheque? Depend on you nego skill, however from what I normally get is from Planet weekday it range for ST-150k-200k, LT 250K-300K & for weekend is about 50K more, as for Pacific which many had claim that the quanlity of FL is better that why the prices are normally higher by another 50K (5) If we want to go for REAL traditional massage (no special service) with sauna/steam room facilities, where should we proceed? You might try Hotel 89. Thanks for the advice and apologise for asking so many questions.[/QUOTE] |

Re: Batam, Bintan, Balai Field reports
Hi Darts,
Thanks for your information. In that case, why some S'poreans head to Batam as early as 8am (S'pore time) when they can only check into the hotel at 1pm(Batam time)? How much Novatel Hotel charges for a night stay? If we decide to proceed for those Fish Tank ala geylang types at those hooker dens, what is the most expensive we expected to pay for 1 whole day? Any recommendation for a good den? As I was told by a fren, some taxi drivers earn commissions from those dens they intro u 2. Thanks a lot |

Re: Batam, Bintan, Balai Field reports
Hi Darts,
If can only check into hotel at 1pm (Batam time), how come there are S'preans heading so early to Batam on Sat mornings? Is it because negotiable with the hotel operators to check in earlier than the stated time? If we r looking for those girls at those usual dens, which is the best place u can recommend? Heard from my friend the cab drivers usually bring visitors to those dens where they can earn commission for bringing them there. What is the market rate for 1 full day booking? Is it advisable to change our currency at Nagoya city instead at the ferry terminal as mentioned by previous threads? Thanks for your advice. |

Re: Batam, Bintan, Balai Field reports
Hi Feitutu,
In reply to your question is yes, that is special nego w/ the hotel which are also subjected to avail, however if you are first time there normally they only allow you to check after 1pm, as for those who go early on Sat morning, IMO is due to that by the time they reach Nagoya is about 1000hrs maybe after their breakfast than check-in as specially arranged, just to note that those hotel they stay are mostly budget hotel/motel which are more accomendating than those bigger & star rated hotel, by the time they settle down it should be about time that the F joint open for business which mean that they might be able get fresher chick. As for question about commission for the taxi driver, yes they do get some about 50K for the OKT, however as first timer to this sin city which might be good becos they will be able to take care of you & if there some problem with the chick eg. bad attitude, they will be able to help change for you ofcos as condition apply, If you have driver you should not worry about which joint to go they will bring you around to do some "shopping" just to name a few like Queens, Maxi, Crown, Hollywood, Jungle, New Jungle, Horizona, Rio Rita, Dynasty, Alishan, Femina etc....., for the prices it range 250K-350k include the driver commission & for money change if you are changing more is better to change in Nagoya town & don't forget to pool altogether with the group so you are changing more & you are able nego a better rate, just for your info that today rate is about S$1 = 5800rp. For Novotel the last time I stayed there is promotion rate @ about S$70, current rate with reference of their website http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/reserv...s.shtml#%23top is 415K which is about S$78. Lastly something extra other than the usual stuff, you might want to have some western food with FOC pool in Red Cock Steakhouse & Lucy Oakhouse, which there are also some PUB around there like ICE pub & Classic, if you are into LIVE band you might waht to checkout Steps & NONAME (Harmoni Hotel), as for daytime activity you might want to catch a movie @ only 20K which is less the S$4 @ Studio 21 Cineplex, there are 4 halls showing some blockbuster that just finished showing in Sg. All the above info is correct as of my humble & limited experience with this Sin City. Wishes your buddy & you a godspeed trip. |
