i love GOD too, but judging from his last CL appearance against PSV in the last game, it is time for him to move on too... hate to see him so frustrated. did u see his face when they were celebrating the goal he assisted? not a happy one there...

always said that players who excelled in the other leagues might not be suitable for the EPL. but then, he has his bad luck with injuries too. he has shown great determination to get back and from reports, it appears that he has not lost his predatory instincts. i would be worried if he signs with bolton... ex-pool strikers who leave acrimoniously almost always come back to haunt liverpool.

Well, whenever Pool fans talk about Owen in any Liverpool football forum,he will guarantee you at least few pages Love him as a wonderful goal scorer or hate him as a juda? I used to like him as a player & thanks for his 158 goals in 259 games for us. Anyway he made his own bed & is too injury prone for us to even think of getting him back . Still wish him good luck with those barcodes on ,he certainly looks taller now !

He is always complaining on the field about his fellow colleagues and always give that "du-lan" look. See already damn buay tahan.

Basically, he has a kinda attitude problem and may create havoc in the dressing room.
This is another example when the fan imposes his personal feelings onto the player. Bro AXL is the only person so far who has said something sensible about Cisse (see, we don't always disagree! )

Just think about it - if someone discriminates against you at work cos he thinks your face very dulan or laolan - how would you feel?

If you want to rate Cisse according to his ability, fine. But the man scored more goals than Morientes, Baros, Crouch, and Garcia, second only to Stevie who by all accounts had an exceptional season.

If you have any evidence that he created disharmony in the dressing room, post it here. I have not read it.

I recognise he is not the player for us and Rafa doesn't know how to get the best out of him but for his endeavour and courage in coming back from horrific injuries, I respect him. I wish him all the best.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

I think his going to Marseille. The chairman suggested it last week anyway. Rumours are Bolton are also interested as Juve are meant to be after Anelka.

His loan deal hasn't even been the disaster which the English press are writing even though none of those guys even watch Lique 1. His scored 8 goals in 18 games. He did suffer some whistles from some OM fans but even Papin said he got whistled by some fans. Like Papin said someone who suffers 2 broken legs needs some time to get back to 100% performance. With a good pre-season behind him he will be fine.

Guess he must concentrate on training, not hair styling

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

We've four choices :

1) Use him. This would not be such a bad idea but if he's (still) as 'prolific' as Bellamy, Crouch and Kuyt then we'll be as short of goals as we have been since Mikey left

2) Loan him out. Bit of a waste of a £14m player but surely it's better than selling at a huge loss

3) Con someone into buying him at a reasonable price. Like Marseille would have paid much for him anyway, I think he's had his big money move and we were the suckers on the receiving end - literally!

4) Sell him for next to nothing to get rid. I like the getting rid part but frankly we should be looking to sell at reasonable value, not that it is Rafa's fault we paid £14m for him anyway.

option 3 is unlikely, option 4 is most likely although none of the above bar 3 are 'acceptable'

No, not 4, Cisse is hardly a Diouf. I think, loan him out again or hope that Houllier takes him to Lyon. Once he gets match fitness, he will score goals and his value will rise. So probably not a good idea to sell him at the end of this season.

Good point about the English gutter press (which, once again, is bollocks).

Btw WTF, why are Bolton after all our former strikers?

Maybe becoz Sam thinks he can get them for a cheap price?? And he makes his name from taking rejects and making them perform??

I agree with ur assessment that we should loan him out again and not sell at a cut price.

now u r not trying to make this a habit, r u? but thanks for the compliment. i just noticed that whenever he scores, he was always damn psyched up during the celebrations! love a player with a bit of fire in his belly, despite his bad taste and total lack of colour coordination. well, so was michael jordan...

that is very true... he was france's first choice to partner henry actually. that actually says a lot about his abilities. but it appears that rafa needs players who go about doing their job quietly and efficiently leh... well, there goes cisse. please, correct me if i m wrong.

bolton r actually made up of mostly rejects, but they r doing well... well, the question is that why sam allardyce can get more from them than when they were playing for liverpool. was actually quite impressed with diouf for bolton, his unselfish play, industry, determination and all...

i disagree with that. if rafa cant work with him, then no point trying to hold out for a better price. get the $ and run. use it to get mascherano on a long term basis. my choice would be to sell him to marseille, so that he wont come back and haunt liverpool. but there is no choice but bolton, then it has to be it but i have no doubt he will be a haunting one...

have a good weekend, guys. cheers

Judging from the Marseille President's recent comments on Cisse, they may try
to get him cheap. In an ideal world he should end up at Lyon which is loaded with cash & a manager who will always gives him some pats on his back. I think Cisse is someone who has that kind of 'key player' mentality while Rafa always prefers versatile players with high work rate & willingness to listen to his instructions. Still remember in a game he ran to shake hand with Rafa immediately after scoring a goal ? Too bad the relationship didn't work out.
I quite like him,a passionate player with a bit of character. As he told the media in an interview,Gerrad used to 'steal' his colourful underwear from his locker & tried them on !

Probably a tactic to devalue him. To me, he tends to not aim when he shoots and just whack the ball. Sometimes he's passionate, sometime he's lazy. But then it took a good finish from him to keep us in the game in the FA Cup final 2006 and so I will always thank him for that He's still only 26 and I would disagree to let him go on the cheap as there's still quite a few years in him.

Whatever we can recoup from his sales, we should. Its not just the transfer fee... I can imagine his weekly wages should be quite high as well

I am still sore at Owen. I think he does not deserve any forgiveness. Don't forget that he engineered his move to Real Madrid, depriving us of much needed funds to replace him with a top class striker. Anyone remember the pittance we got for him. He should have at least been worth double of that (look at what Everton got for Rooney).

We forgave him... and then when things in Spain didn't go his way (If REAL really wanted Owen, they would have paid for him like they paid for Ronaldo, Zidane ... ) So instead of coming back to Pool... he opted for the best deal... which was Newcastle. In my books... he is undeserving of sympathy from Pool fans.

We have had other strikers go overseas... but NONE of them screwed over like Owen.

To me.. his injuries are his reward for what he has done.

did try to find out what happened and here's what i gathered.

fact or myth?
1. he refused to sign a new contract then...
2. he wanted to go real madrid.
3. rafa had no choice but to sell him for 8mil pounds.
4. after 1 season, real wanted to unload him for 17mil pounds.
5. rafa didnt want him, so owen went to newcastle and stayed injured most of the time.

well, he turned his back on pool, went to real madrid. what was he thinking? that he can supplant ronaldo (the real one!!!) or raul??? these guys sell more shirts and bring in the crowds!!! so, no matter what he does on the field, having the best minutes to goal ratio, was useless!!!

n u think he didnt feel like shit when madrid offloaded him for a profit. he screwed pool maybe for the reason that he wants to play with the biggest club in the world but they in turn screwed him big time by selling him for a profit!!! since when u heard of real madrid selling players for a profit??? owen probably feels like shit already for being used like a bloody rag doll!!! and rafa made it clear that he didnt want owen at pool. i can imagine how sad he was when he made the move to newcastle... that i felt was his just desserts.

his injuries, well, his style of play would encourage that kind of injuries... my 2 cents. cheers
