So is it confirmed Singapore hp now cannot just buy Indo sim to use? Any alternative to that?

Majestic Fast Ferry updated her website to show full details, no ART, insurance (20k$ for Covid19) needed and vaccination cert.

I would suggest to just activate roaming services just before boarding the ferry. I paid like SGD 5 for 3 days / 1gb (additional 1gb free maybe due to some promo). It calculates based on 72 hours. Worked well on starhub during my trip earlier this month.
Felt it was more convenient than to change sim cards. Had read up in earlier post that some issues may occur using foreign phone with purchased sim card.

Both my Samsung A12 and A22 can't use with Indonesia SIM card, only my Samsung S10 which bought in 2019 can use Smartfren SIM card. My TPG SIM card also can't connect to internet in Batam despite of having 1 GB free roaming, don't know why.

Did you register phone IMEI? Indonesia recently in the past few years have this annoying rule where to be able to use local normal SIM card normally you have to register phone IMEI. Haven't been to Batam in a while so not sure ferry centre have registration places or not.

Google for "Indonesia IMEI" for more info.

Phones are cheaper in Singapore, I believe Indonesia government intention is to prevent Indonesian buying phones here and bring back, however such ruling has also cause inconvenience to foreign visitors. Phones bought after 2020 here can't use Indonesia SIM, no internet access without WiFi, yet they require all foreign visitors to install Pedulindungi on phone, contradiction policy.
