Bro, i think it does not matter how i write the thai language in the form of english, most importantly is i hope i can master my basic thai come 2013 lol.... I am same as you too, i am starting to like their mai bpen rai culture too, less stress hahahahaha... I think in this day and age, u cant 'suffocate' her by expecting her to always do things ur way. Sometimes you need to make decisions or act based on her feelings and preference. U need to give her that trust element.

I think somehow or rather I've also adapted their sabai sabai mai pen rai culture... Everyday after work, just wanna quickly head home, chill 2 cans of beer and drink while relaxing, then go to sleep and repeat this cycle the next day sometimes I feel like I've lost my social life but I make up for it over the weekends la, haha

Most people I think just are into this idea of getting married, setting up home etc... like playing masak-masak. Then the daily stress eats into the marriage and they do not know how to deal with it and thats when "differences" start to appear. Anyways what do I know? Bloody monger trying to act smart

I stayed in Thailand for 2 years and what I like about the Thais is their patient nature. For example the soi that I stayed in is basically a one way street. So sometimes u get people unloading things for about 5 to 10 minutes. This holds up the traffic for about 500m out into the main road but so far, I swear, I never heard any Thai motorist horn out of frustration. In Sillypore, less than 1 minute some fucker will start horning away.

But sadly big city life is slowing changing the Thais. They cut Qs at the super market and push & shove their way into the BTS, just look at Siam station and u will know what I mean. Its the stress and dog-eat-dog culture of big city living where everyone just think for themselves becoming selfish. Mai greng jai.

I also TRYING to learn their "mai bpen rai" attitude. So far only mastered the beer-at-home-after-work part well Because the beer was cheap there so always bought a carton to keep in my apartment. Carried the habit over to Sillypore now.

This saying came from one of my friend during one of our chats. He gave a real life example of a seemingly stable Thai girl and Singaporean marriage still fails after 20 years. The so called success stories are far and few between. The dream of " but she is the right one" is still a dream. Cultural difference and also language barrier are great hurdles.

Despite the fact that one can speak and write the language there are more to overcome when dealing with Thai ladies. We can stand far and look at them. The may look good from far but they are actually far from good. Time is the thing that needs to be invested in any relationship to know if u are the one for her.

Bro, thats is the main reason why i choose LOS girls over sg ones coz they can still be simple. SG girls no longer will think simple. If you are able to go over to LOS, esp their less dense areas and drop your freaking ego and assimilate into their simple living lifestyle, i am sure you can maintain a good r/s wif a los gf despite your poor understanding of their language and culture...

At the end of the day, we sillyporeans or any sterotypical fella out there has to understand that marriage is not a definite must during your 30s or wad. There is no such thing where its the right time to get married. You can still get divored even if u think its was the right time to wed. You determine the right time. IMHO, Thai culture is also different in different areas, eg northern southern central and northeastern area. As tourist most people will not see the ugly or the beautiful part of their culture.

It's either you love it or hate it. Some people stayed here for 3 months and love Los, some wants to go back home.

Who are we to judge them? Go with the flow cause No one knows where the 'flow' will lead you to. Good or bad it's all unknown. Who knows what the future may bring. I have seen tg married to farang for their whole life. Seen some couples can't even last 3 months together.

All comes down to the choice you make and the actions you take.

Enjoy life cause life is short, make your life meaningful for most are lost.

I feel lah, if u blindly put 100 percent and go wif de flow in r/s in this day and age, it wont go well lah. I will say put 60 percent emotional aka go wif flow plus 40 percet others( financial, xxx and so on).

Esp for guys, u need to think wif ur big bro and small bro. If emotionally and personality wise u all can click but no xxx and money to sustain also wont go well. If u have money and she blows u awesomely but always personality clash thanks to egos and other causes, also cannot work. So time to jagar jagar both elements in this day and age!

IMHO, if you compare apples to apples, city girls in Thailand are much more complicated than the city girls in Singapore. I think SG girls are less street smart and complicated than girls in Shanghai, Bangkok, Jakarta, HCMC, etc.

I agree on this. I have the feeling that those S'poreans from lower middle class likes to think that they are rich and high class when they travel to developing countries. But they do not know that actually they are still considered poor even by these countries' standard.

Bro, if possible dun look at LOS city girls, they are seng mok lik hell. However city girls frm most countries are de same, material comes in de pic firstly. Bro, no offence but reading all your posts makes me feel you are biased against SG girls in all aspects. In almost every of your post, you compare SG girls to Thai girls and your conclusion is always the same: that Thai girls are 10/10 and SG girls are 0/10.

I find this especially unfair and somewhat even offensive because you're being very generalizing; not all SG girls are as awful as you have described them to be. You form a negative impression of SG girls based on your own assumptions of them (perhaps due to bad experiences/stories) and hence deduce that Thai girls are 10000x better. But have you ever gotten into a relationship with a Thai girl? Or is that just based on the stories you've heard? If you'd open your ears and eyes to notice, there are actually many success stories of locals marrying locals and living happy lives as well. Similarly, there are also many stories of locals marrying Thais and regretting like hell after.
