well...you can go harbour front buy ferry ticket to either sekupang or harbourbay in batam...see which one you want...either penguin ferry or wavemaster.....cost of to and fro is $48....

as for hotel is your preference.....up to you...for gers...as u says should not be any problem......

hotel no need advance book.....

I would suggest Harbour Bay cuz it's the nearest to town and fastest to reach from SG and less crowded.

Hotel i would suggest Formosa Hotel and book hotel from hotel booking counter when u reach the ferry terminal in Harbour Bay.

All the chiong places are scattered so there is no 1 such hotel close to everything.

On the left of Formosa have Dynasty 99 and opposite have Queen 933.
Both are booking joints.
4th floor of Formosa have KTV also but open 7pm Indo time.

Pacific is close to harbout bay ferry. 2 mintues from Harbour Bay. Nearest to the terminal is Armin hotel( inside harbour bay). Last I saw is 150k per nite? Not too sure. Make sure you take taxis from hotels, and if you need a taxi, nego with them the PRICE PROPERLY before boarding.

As for fun, there are many listed in this thread. Always wear the CD, and becareful with your personal items. Nagoya and Jodoh is very nearby, you can always move about easily in these area.

I suggest u take wavemaster and also drop at habourbay as near to town area and more choice as for hotel, u can try tis new Five Stars Hotel opp Nagoya shopping mall it's on Sing40 per nite is cheap. Hotel also not bad, someting like our Hotel81 here. All the fuck house and also gd food is within walking distance. Nite place that place is veri crowded especially in the weekend.

For hotel buy voucher is cheaper, walk in i m not sure if they is room and rates is same a not as buying voucher.

Pacific is near to harbour bay but heard the ger price will be different and could be dangerous as they may take your belonging when u are not alert.

Just my 2 cents of suggestion. U may think other is better for u.Sharing some infor only.

Living in Batam

I am not sure if this the Thread to post my inquiry. If it is not, please pardon me.

I am a S'porean Chinese, late 50s, widower...kids all grown up and married. As with most of us, I frequented PRC MILF, Thai SYT, etc...but for me it is getting too repetitive and boring and I really long to have a companion\wife. I am still working, self-employed work my business through the Internet.

I have heard of S'poreans who live in Batam find Indo wife or companion rent a house there which I understand is real cheap compared to S'pore and day to day cost of living is also cheap. These S'poreans, I understand, live outside the main town centre so housing is cheap. In Singapore I am living alone and rent a small house which cost me more than 2k per month.

I am seriously thinking of living in Batam where I understand for S$2k per month (the rent I am paying now) one can rent a nice house, pay daily expenses and live quite comfortably with an Indo wife\companion. My query now is to ask if any Bro here is living in Batam or knows about cost of living in Batam and whether it is possible to find an Indo wife, decent type family wife. If any Bro here does live in Batam or knows about life there, I would appreciate if you can enlighten me and advise me. You can post reply here or PM me..then maybe we can meet for coffee to chat.

Might as well buy it right ?
At least when u sell still got some money back.

Can help you on certain questions.

1) Rental- Depend on where you want to stay. Certain places are cheaper, some are more ex. Range from 150 to 300 Singapore dollars. Houses are cheap there, ranging from about 10 Singapore dollars onwards, depend on where you want to stay.

2) Looking for a wife? You looking for a MILF or a SYT? Chances are that if you look for a Malay wife, and SYT, she is likely to stray. Given your age, in 50s? you may find a widow for companion. She is less likely to ask for more, since she is older, wont flirt around. Only set back is that chinese woman in Indo gossip alot, and their character is different from singkee chinese.

3) Driving is cheap here, where you can get a car cheaply. Get a international driving licence, you use it here. When you come over for stay, just report to the police station for a permit, cost about 15K rupiah each time, last you for 1 month.

4) Food wise, and makan. Most food here is cheap and you can get by cheaply if someone cooks at home. I know Malay wife can get by with about 300 Singapore dollars comfortably per month here. There are many chinese living in this region as well. Penuin Market/Center is where most chinese lives. There are also other areas here with sustianial chinese population as well. THis area is also near Nagoya and Jodoh. There are singapore "like" food here too, including Mcdonalds and KFC.

P.S. I know some singapore men who bring over their wives over to singapore to stay too, gave them a PR in singapore also. If you are earning a sum of money each year, and you have met certain requirements( PM me for details), you can apply PR for her here.

Yes, I agree. When I first came here, I felt in love with this place and it is my home ever since. Took me a few years to settle in, but since then, I got a home and business here too.

Batam is like singapore in the 70s. And it is improving a lot since 2004.

As for finding an Indo wife or companion, and I'm talking about a truthful, sincere and loyal one.
You are a Singaporean, so your house, car or maybe if you are to set up some small business here, all those would have to be in her name.
