It's just a convenient way of substituting the character ǚ since most keyboards won't have it. And when choosing to type Chinese characters using hanyupinyin, typing nv will give you 女 while typing nu will give characters like 怒
RR is housed together with many FL in the same development. She's definitely not in safe location right now
