Thank you all for the kind words and advices. Guess there was a little frustration in me as well as i see fewer Singaporeans everywhere i go. There's so much differences between 10 years ago and now. That's off topic for now though..
Again just want to express my thanks to the community here for advising me on this matter.
U are not alone in term of ur spouse. . If toking abt work, I'm working inthe sunset industry while maybe 1 in 10 are pure local.. what to do...

While another officer came over to me and took away my NRIC and Passport.
Currently still going quite smooth as she is not staying anywhere except for my own apartment.
Thanks for the reply.. My last income tax return was more than $120k. They only gave her a 1 year LTVP. Not even a 3 years or LTVP+ So i suspect it is not income related only..
Actually my hopes are not high for this PR. Seems like getting LTVP is also difficult. And she is clean. Nvr commit any crimes or did anything in Singapore before plus she is educated.
Just not sure why the government wants to tekan own singaporeans by making our lives difficult even for my legit spouse to be together with me. Really feel can let in so many PR and workpass/work permit cannot let spouse come in longer.
Dont know what rationale..
Personal experience from a friend (Chinese Singaporean) of mine with a Vietnamese wife, with a clean record, income appx $80,000 a year. Started the application process ONE MONTH after marriage.
First application for LTVP: Wife issued 1 year LTVP
Renewal for LTVP: Given 3 year LTVP+
Applied for PR one month after son was born in Singapore: PR approved in 9 months
I think you stand a pretty good chance, especially your wife comes from a developed nation, albeit my friend's Viet missus has a Singaporean male child. I think it's just a matter of time before your wife gets PR. 1 year LTVP is the norm for first application. Good luck!
"Where the Controller refuses to allow any person to enter Singapore on the ground that the person is a prohibited immigrant, the Controller shall, if so requested by the person, inform him of the class of prohibited immigrants of which, inthe opinion of the Controller, he is a member."
Now knock yourselves out. As you know this is Singapore and our friendly neighbourhood civil servants probably couldn't give a fuck even if you quote this to them. Good luck, just thought I should share.
I think many forumers here misunderstood my intentions. I would like to clarify that my purpose of posting the above is:
TO
Point out a technicality in Singapore law that ICA is required to provide a reason when denying entry
Educate anyone who has a future gf/partner/fuckbuddy/wife/etc who are from poorer developing nations, who may face denial of entry for WHATEVER reason
For discussion and food for thought purposes as there is much anecdotal evidence that ICA officers DO NOT give reasons when denying entry to anyone
NOT TO
Challenge whether ICA has the right to deny entry to anyone
Kpkb for anyone's behalf or some stupid nitwits assume, kpkb because of my own experience

Thanks for the kind words again. Hopefully things go well.. but giving birth here without subsidy is expensive. I might have to pack her back to Taiwan or Canada to give birth.. I think the unsubsidised rate here is about 5k to 7k in a public hospital like NUH. CPF takes care of approx 1.5k. Then as chinese, we prefer to hire a someone to 做月and her due date is during CNY. So finding someone probably will take about another 4k to 5k during that period. Total max is prob about $11k cash. Pretty heavy.
Compared to about SGD5k for everything inin Taiwan, including 30days stay in those pretty decent 月子中心 which has environment akin to hotel. Just doesn't make sense to give birth here financially even if i account for the tickets to and fro.
Doesn't this contradicts with the government's call to have more kids? Having a kid overseas (Not by choice) means i have a choice not to register him as a SC. Just felt they could have done more for people with genuine foreign spouse.
Sorry for using chinese here. Could not express those terms in english.

Is she pregnant and about to give birth? Once she gets LTVP+ the subsidy is similar to that of PR (this is based on first hand experience) plus you can use your Medisave to pay for part of the bill.
KK hospital is pretty decent too. Take into account that your wife and baby may need at least a few weeks to rest before they can travel safely. I mean, they would allow her to fly but would you really want to risk your newborn to fly so soon if you intend to settle here?

Hi thanks for the reply. I have read up whatever i can find and even email public hospital but none wanted to reply me on the rates for foreigners.
Citizen parents yes. But my wife is on a LTVP, so she is not a citizen nor entitled to any subsidy. As such, she will be considered foreigner. I am not sure in this case, if going to a private hospital and a government hospital is any different since no subsidy is given to her.

She will give birth before she can get the LTVP+
Haha.. it was just so zhun that she got her LTVP in April and then got pregnant in May.. so ya...
She will have to fly back before her third trimester then come over i think about 6 to 8 weeks after giving birth.. Her parents are there.. my parents will fly up for a month after she gave birth too to help.. me? Working here to earn moola.. Even with all the flights factored in, it is still cheaper to give birth there than here.. How expensive we are here... but just whinning...

anyone can give birth in a general hospital without having problem...so long you dun fix a specialist...the charges should be alright...if you feel that as citizen you are not getting what you deserved...then pls go and see Health Minister or your MP...to get this resolved...you are a voter...they should serve you...best in this case your MP is PAP MP or a Minister...

So i guess this PR application should be down the drain then. Got to wait 3 years if that's the norm. She's not interested in giving up her Taiwan and Canadian nationality for ours so i suppose PR is the furthest we will go for her.

3 years LT pass is a very short time. If you have kids, and continue to have stable income, PR is not too difficult to get.
If I remember correctly, LT social can work for certain hours a week also right?
Try working in Mac Donalds or Japan Home or Daiso, or some part time work, does not matter the pay, just for clicking work hours to show them.

Haha.. point noted.. My dad does have some links with the RC chairman and he has asked if i need him to speak to the MP. I am holding on to that option first. Just wanna go through the proper way instead of shortcut. I am no elite and will not create positive news for them..

LTVP+ yes i think.. LTVP is prohibited from working. Anyway she has no intention to work.. If she works, we will also need to hire someone to take care of the kid so doesn't make sense financially again. Sorry la but i am single income small family so need to be more money-wise.. lol

Go to Mt Alvernia hospital if costs is a problem..... the rates there for foreigners giving birth are cheaper than KKH rates for foreigners. Take their gynae package which includes everything all in...... you'd save about 20-30% off the KKH rates.

spend some money and get medical insurance ... covering pregnancy too
make sure it is covered ... most Insurance agent will lie ... go direct to NTUC if you can ...
make sure you get zero excess ...
as long as you have LTVP you can use medisave for coverage and top up for rider
you can manage
some of subsidies are retrospective ...
hang in there ..
Ninja_Assassin is right, restructured hospitals can cost more than private for foreigners ...
with subsidies it works out much cheaper than nearby countries though.
but if you decided to deliver in TW ... your child is still citizen of Singapore ... just register his birth inthe Singapore mission once delivered.
and for LTVP to work she has to cancel LtVP and get a work pass/EP unlike LTvP +
