This time round,i believe it won't be lost so easy after learning from 2007 experience where this thread begins. It's only the beginning when i plan on updating the list. Thank you bro. Once completed or reach certain stage,it will be book-marked on my signature and it can be on anyone's signature. It is good to be put on signature for my case cos this way,i can constantly update it w/o doing the flip-back-the-thread routine again.I can also cross reference whenever i need to go Batam too.

Currently,as the list aren't as updated (only basic stage now) or anywhere near its completion,so newbie/s will still continue to ask the same questions you mentioned. Most of the time,i refer them to a direction to seek for answers. Much easier than answering them in a rush w/o proper details that may have them ending up spoiling the cheong "market" unnecessarily ,hehehe...

But my ideal list should be easy to view on words,with pics,address,map direction and basic descriptions. I am still the biggest beneficiary of the list from my point of view. One day when i become tired and pass off Batam,new generation of newbies who benefit from it like i do may be inspired to carry on the updates and the list will go on where i left off for the good of the next generation of Batam cheongsters...lol

Batam entertainment is big, while the island is small. You can cheong alone and there is so much to do. Drinks are cheap( food court) and distance to entertainment are nearby.

Usually, I go drinking w friends( I am quite a drinker and smoker), and after that, proceed to have my own fun in massage. As I don't go KTV, and disco for fun, most of my kakis are older men who enjoy to sit down to eat, view gals( or pick up from joint), and chat. After that, we go separate ways.

Not necessary 4 or more is a big group, it all depend on how you cheong. My friends from Singapore likes KTV, but they never know who I am in this forum. Just tag along for drinks and off they go to KTV to continue. Massage? I would go with a few, at times, and everyone knows what each is doing. No questions asked. Sometimes, they have a preference for a certain gal and they go to their favourite joints. While I have mine.

So, end of the day, cheonging is not about how big a group, but more of what each want to do together. Usually, makan is what each of us have to do, and drinking and smoking, talking cock is fun as well. Some of them may be samsters here, but I never ask either. Do not leave your drinks unattended at these places. A few expats have been drugged & robbed.Keep your HP secure.

Noname – Located on the ground floor of the Harmoni Hotel is a popular live music venue for locals and expats. Most of the acts are flown in from Jakarta and one of the best place to meet local ladies.

Java Pub – just reopened, and has live music on Friday & Saturday. Older crowd, (like Jaya pub JKT but smaller) Comfortable place to hang out.

Bingo’s Pub – just opened and has live music on Friday’s & Saturdays. Good place, nice staff and occasional celebrity entertainers popping in for a song or jam. A nice alternative to the usual very loud rap / trance pubs.

Sullivans – Used to be Ria Rita and has live music on the weekends. Mostly a local crowd. Across the street from the side entrance of Lusys (helps to speak Bahasa – mostly local gals).

Haha...bro,i go Batam for tour and some basic entertainment,4 person inside taxi very squeezy leh...lol...so my preference is, 3 is enough.

I am no drinker,smoking yes...so i have the tendency to link up with bros who are also in Batam at the same time with me for a short break,eg smoke,food,tcss etc. I am also allergic to sea food,so bros who usually jio me go batam together,i would choose to decline. Cannot always ask them to suit what i eat,not very nice too. I am still inexperience in Batam,don't speak Bahasa indo or Malay...which is another set back when it comes to entertainment. So all in all,i can be classified as lacking confidence,more afraid that i may become an extra weight to the party who goes together with me.

If i go Batam on my own,or occasionally with a fren or 2,they knows me well enough,and that i only have myself to be responsible to and i do not need to make sure if they'll be lost or if they have a good time or not. They are usually more experience than me or at least already have some basic knowledge of what they will be getting. So going to cheong with people you know and those you don't do have a difference.

To me,when it comes to Batam,it means work and relaxation all combined into a pool yet they are all within my control.Working w/o the environment restriction,meaning no one will look over my workstation,hence no stress,no pressure,no deadline to follow,nobody to hold me responsible for anything i did not right (if i do). Relaxation,means whenever i choose to,i can relax and enjoy my time when i am done with work. I can totally switch off. There are no time limitation as time seems to stand still. (i cant do all that in sillypore)

And that is what got me into visiting Batam at least once a month. To keep my mind off work ,yet still at work.

By the way,exchange rate is pretty good from sin to indo. U can get easily get around 9540 over the last 2 days & if lucky enough who knows,u can get 9600.
