does the points in our reps really MATTERS.from some threads i seen in the forum,some bros are being zapped and they can throw everythings out including family members.is it fair to their family members?:(

I think they implemented the Reputation System mainly to encourage fellow members to contribute more posts into this forum, and the deductions of point is to discourage people from being rude and to get rid of those trouble makers here.

To me, Points don't really matter in some way or another, I just treat it as a guideline to me, keeping in mind that I should behave myself properly in this forum.

I'm happy to see some bros out there who helped to UP my points lately, and I WILL NOT FORGET what they have done to me, I SHALL SUPPORT their threads/posts in return!

An advice to ALL the newbies out there, please read those Stickies in the Newbie Section before you're getting zap from others. Although Points can't exchange for freebies or cash, but when you have Points in hand, you will tend to gain respect from others and to get more friends in your cheonging life.

Most times it is not just post that get you points. Lao jiaos sometimes where got time for FRs. You go attend tcss session held monthly n open to all, people know you liao, u can cheong together, once they know you, ok. Of course when free still hv to contribute advice etc ... possibly an FR here or there ...

BTW, maybe this thread should be in newbies section ... :)

U can't bring those points with u when u leave this earth. Neither can u use them to redeem anything. It's more like to acknowledge someone who contributes good stuff (i.e. clips, funny jokes, good FRs etc).

It is important in the sense that we need to differentiate between real cheongsters and those who are not. If you know alot of cheongsters, and they up you for no reason, it is to acknowledge you are a bona fide cheongster. If you do not know any cheongster ie operate on your own, then you need to contribute FRs the best so at least some other bros can confirm it is bona fide; for jokes or stories, there is no way we can confirm you are a cheongster .... so lesser chance of being upped ...

On the whole, points is only necessary if you are interested in getting contacts and asking questions etc, else if you are just a passive browser, there is no need for it ....

Still, I'm seeing people with like negative gazeiilion pts still able to make rude, nasty and untrue posting on the site. Hence whether with +ve or -ve rating, they still live life as normal...Seems the same to most people.

Not to offend anyone here but to have +ve rating is good, but Im not too worry about it actually as I'm the one who make my own judgment since bros with 1 miilion +ve pts may exaggerate at times. Isn't it true? :D

Personally i find the rep points are overrated... often I see some bros here rant and rave about getting zap. For me, I kena zap don't know how many times liao, but it doesn't matter anymore. Why? Simple reason, you cannot do anything with the points, so why care? I find it funny that some idiots here who zap people thinks it is going to change things? I don't think so, as idiots will still behave like idiots, people who shoot their mouth off will still continue to do so...

if the user's Point dropped to ZERO or -ve, then the post will be moderated for 1~3 days b4 it came out! if SBF Admin/Moderators found out the post is too much/too rude, i dun think the post wil b appearing also!
